Trauma informed Practice
Trauma Informed Practice is recognising and understanding the impact that trauma and adversity has had on adults and children and considering ways to respond in a way that promotes positive relational experiences when certain emotions or behaviours are displayed. Thus having a therapeutic effect in all that we do.
“Beneath every behaviour there is a feeling. And beneath every feeling there is a need. And when we meet that need rather than focus on the behaviour we begin to deal with the cause.”
