Provider Consultation on the Early Years National Funding Formula (EYNFF) for 2023/2024

Dear Free Early Education Entitlement Provider,

Bristol City Council’s Early Years Team are awaiting out outcome of a national consultation by the Department for Education, which has announced provisional increases for early years entitlements funding for Bristol in the coming financial year 2023/2024.

We hope that you were able to attend one of the recent webinars which explained the proposed increases, and have attached the presentation and FAQ for those who couldn’t make it. As with previous consultations, we have chosen to press on, rather than further reduce the window of opportunity to gather the thoughts and feedback from you about how to allocate funding in the next financial year. Once the rates are announced, we will update the whole sector.

There are 7 main questions, all of which have a Yes/No option and space for adding in comments. There is also a space for general comments at the end of the survey. Whilst the survey covers all elements of funding, we review one element in more detail each year. Last year we reviewed the supplements; this year is your opportunity to review the frequency of payments and the provisional of six additional places for 2 year olds. Please complete one survey per provision (i.e. collating staff, management and owner comments) by Friday 30th December 2022. A PDF of the questions is attached to this email to allow providers to review their responses before submitting through the survey.
